I have been making Santa appearances since 2015. What started as a way to bring some light-hearted joy to the residents of the senior living facility where I worked has become a passion for bringing the Magic of Santa to children throughout the Low Country.

I can honestly say that when I don The Big Red Suit and become Santa, something truly magical happens. I get to forget about all of the ugliness in the world and not let it touch me; my heart truly fills with joy, especially when I get to interact with the kids and see their smiles and their happiness and excitement. I get to help create a positive experience and memory for kids that hopefully lasts a lifetime. But even if it's just for that day or moment it really just fills me with so much joy that people who've known me for years sometimes have to do a double take to recognize me!

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a passion for empowering abused kids and helping kids in general. And I'm a biker.
In 2015 I was working at a senior living facility and decided to dress up as Santa for the residents on Christmas Day. I was so thrilled with the happiness that I brought to those residents that I started making small appearances once or twice a year. I would put on the suit, the wig, and the fake beard and Santa would make a brief appearance at a cocktail party or something like that. Then, in October of 2021 it all changed as I was offered my first gig as a professional Santa. So, on November 2nd, 2021, the Santafication process began. And now I have a passion for creating Holiday magic as Santa Claus. The rest is...magical! |

For what feels like one magical moment I get to step out of “the real world” and enter one where magic really does exist. A world where children can ask for anything they want - like the little girl who said all she wanted was for people to be nice to each other and for people to love one another; and they can ask Santa those burning questions - like where’s Rudolph! A world where Santa may be the biggest attraction, but the children are the real celebrities. A world where the ugliness of “the real world” simply doesn’t exist. It’s a world where Topher ceases to exist in what feels like an instant as he is transformed into Santa Clause. It’s a world where no kid is too big or too small. It’s a world where those who believe receive. And it’s a world that I can’t wait to go back to!
Past years have provided me the opportunity to be a part of the James Island County Park Holiday Festival of Lights; both on the main stage and as part of their "Mingle with Kringle" events. I was so thrilled to do those events, as they provided some of the best moments from past Santa Seasons. You can read more about some of those experiences in the blog section of this site!
